2014_AWARDS FLAT GOLD

Adam Carpets have won the category for  ‘Outstanding Performance’ at the recent Interiors Monthly awards. This accolade was chosen by the Editor, Andrew Kidd and reflects the constant striving for quality and innovation by Adam Carpets in 2014.

“It’s been quite a twelve months” said Eamonn Prescott, Sales Director. “Last November our Artistry range won the Silver Award for Best Carpet at the prestigious House Beautiful Awards. That was followed up by being recognised in the Supplier of the Year category at the Flooring One Show. It shows we are continuing to keep our quality levels high and carry on what we do best, innovating.”

2014 has already seen the launch of Revelation, a unique triple combination of twist, stripe and tonal. Close Companions is also ready to launch and is a beautiful combination of Houndstooth and Herringbone designs.

Increased Production at Adam Carpets

Adam Carpets have been actively recruiting staff across Production and Sales department to match the increased demand across a number of ranges.

“Sales for the first half of the year have been excellent.” said Chris Adam. “To make sure that we have the best stock positions available for our customers, we have increased our number of production staff, gone to a two shift work pattern of mornings and afternoons, as well as more yarn than at anytime over the last four years. We have also removed our annual September shutdown, so that we can run production straight through to Christmas.”

Chris continued “These extra measures are further examples of what we are doing to respond even quicker in the factory to our customer demand. Thank you to all of our customers for a fantastic first half of the year.”

One of Two New Dye House Boilers Being Delivered

Adam Carpets have embarked on a major project to upgrade their on site dye house in 2014. This project represents a major investment including replacing the existing boiler with two smaller more energy efficient ones.

Although work is expected to last two months, no interruption to production will be caused as the current boiler will continue to run until the two new ones have been brought on stream.

“Although our current boiler was not quite at the end of its life span” said Chris Adam, Managing Director, “we believed that this was the right time to upgrade our facilities within our dye house to ensure that we will be able to meet the continuing upturn in demand for our products.”

The two boilers will replace an existing larger boiler. This will mean that the dye house can run more efficiently and save money and water, thereby helping the environment.

“As most of our customers know, all the plain colours in our ranges are dyed by us here at our factory. This large investment is a statement to our customers that we are here for the long term. The life of these boilers is anything up to forty years, so we will be here dyeing our own yarns for our own carpets made in Kidderminster for many more years to come” said Chris.
